Chanquete's fishing boat, symbol of Nerja's
tourist boom. Main prop in the felicitous ode produced by filmmaker
Antonio Mercero for nerja in the early 80's of the 20th Century
just passed, aired as the T.V series "Verano Azul" (Azure
Summer).
La Dorada-One, shown as it was depicted in the T.V serialization,
during the filming was both haven and abode for that old seawolf
"Chanquete", masterfully played by Antonio Ferrandis.
Today it stands in the Parque Verano Azul as homage to those that
wove this marvelous yarn of children's holidaymaking, which made
its global rounds displaying the grace and charm of Nerja. This
is the town's sincerest memento to the actors and motion picture
technicians that brought each and every chapter to life in the TVE
Spanish Television Network serial.
